Built around 10 years ago judging by the build method and construction, the locomotive is a one-off including moderate detail model with appropriate scale features for a working locomotive.

 

Built on a welded steel chassis with a plywood floor and medite wood body, the model is of sturdy construction with few issues, aside from the odd mark in the paint and knock on the body. The bogies are laser cut steel construction with roller take-up bearings plus springing on each axlebox. The bogies are  surrounded by a decorative wooden shroud that gives an appropriate appearance.

We purchased the loco around 4 years ago and have used it regularly at the local club but with a number of new locomotives coming into our ownership, the Class 20 has seen less use and we would like to pass it on so that it can be used and loved as it should.

 

The original controller has been replaced with a 4QD Pro 160 unit which has been vertically mounted inside the cab with a custom support bracket. The mounting of the controller means that it is very easy to read the battery voltage and amperage when on the move and make adjustments to the settings.

The loco has had a refresh to much of the electric system including;
New in-built cigarette lighter for charging phones on the go. 

A battery check voltage display which when activated shows the individual battery voltage of the two 12volt batteries to check battery health at the start and end of a running session. 

A new charging circuit has been installed with an Anderson connector in the cab for charging the batteries without removing the body, which has really improved the usability, manual handling and storage aspects of the loco.

At the moment we transport the locomotive without the batteries inside but plans were made to fit battery cradles and clamps to allow the batteries to be kept inside the loco during transport. These can be fitted for a nominal charge - please discuss this with us.

The locomotive already has a two tone horn but we are also able to add a Class 20 sound card with speaker for £435 additional charge if requested by the new owner.

Class 20’s are always a popular locomotive in any gauge, but a brand new one in 7 ¼ is normally upwards of £8,000 from a well known supplier, we are offering this used but recently sorted loco at £3,500.
