A product we have been asked for numerous times is a method of coupling standard gauge hook and buffers to narrow gauge style slot and pin couplings. This is a challenge faced at many clubs who run with multiple coupling types. To overcome this, we have designed a coupling plate that slots into the coupling block and allows the chain of a standard gauge loco to be threaded through the front slot.
No Pins or chain are supplied with this adapter.

Safe Use
We do not provide information about the tensile strength of these couplings, they are cut from Mild Steel grade EN3B. It is your decision as the user what is an appropriate load for the products, many factors could come into play which may affect their strength. For heavy trains, you may wish to use a different coupling method.
Couplings should always be used in conjunction with a locking pin and safety chain, in accordance with relevant guidance. For more on miniature train operation please look at our Safety page.
Items can be used with 10 ¼ ,7 ¼ , 5, 3 ½ - Consideration should be given to the expected load on the coupling, thicker versions are available for high loads upon request.
It is the operator’s responsibility to ensure the day-to-day safety of the railway. Subject to availability there is approximately a one week lead time on track products. If placing and order for more than 30 sections or if you require a non-standard item or component then please contact us directly with your requirements and a price can be quoted.
