Developed for 3 ½” gauge locomotives with especially small wheels & wheel spacing, including Rob Roys for example. Short wheelbase rolling roads are ideal for testing specific locomotives such as Rob Roys that cannot make use of our standard 3 ½” product. Built from 4mm steel plate and using sealed roller bearings, these rolling roads are sturdy and durable and an excellent tool for anyone looking to rebuild and restore miniature locomotives.
To operate the rolling road you must ensure to have the rolling roads on a flat surface. Following this the locomotive can be placed onto the rolling roads before being carefully run at slow to medium speeds.
We are only aware of Rob Roy locomotives being unable to use our standard product and encourage customers to purchase the standard variant for the majority of other use cases. The standard product features adjustability and is therefore much more likely to be suited to your locomotive.
Do not use this product with locomotives with large driving wheels (some narrow gauge types or express style scale standard gauge locomotives) as the locomotive risks becoming unstable, potentially leading to damage and injury. If in doubt, please get in touch.

Monitoring your rolling road
The rolling road comes with completely sealed roller bearings meaning no greasing is required. It is however recommended that the bearings are inspected before use to ensure there is still free movement so that the locomotive does not attempt ride up off the product.
